With the development of society and economy and the reformation of national and military medical sciences, new and higher requests are proposed for improving the quality of medical service of military general hospitals. The quality of medical care service process for outpatients is the important component of hospital medical quality and the concentrated expression of the level of medical quality and overall strength. Therefore, strengthening the management of outpatient department (OPD) and raising the service quality play important roles in improving the service quality for outpatients, advancing the quality of medical service, and promoting the construction and development of OPD.Combining with related literature, this study shows the characteristics and developing tendency of the quality of medical care service process for outpatients in present military general hospitals. Through summarizing and objectively analyzing the main practice and successful experiences and the problems and difficulties of the management of service quality of OPD, deeply researching and exploring the basic data in OPD such as the OPD numbers, patients resources, visiting time and visiting factors, and the staff allocation and organization, medical charge and patients' satisfaction in a military general hospital, and combining with the developing tendency of management of outpatient medical service of present hospitals, we proposed the corresponding strategies and measures to strengthen the construction of outpatient service quality.This study not only masters the present status of management of outpatient medical service in military general hospitals but also provides scientific basis and important reference for further strengthening management of outpatient medical service, constructing service quality brand, and raising the synthetic efficiency in military general hospitals.
