| Objective:To detect the levels of interleukin-18(IL-18) and high sensitivity C-Reactive protein(Hs-CRP) in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS) before and after taking atrovastatin,To explore the relationship of IL-18 and Hs-CRP and the severity of coronary heart disease,to explore the effect on inflammation factors from statins.Methods:Sixty-five patients with acute coronary syndrome were enrolled and divided into two groups by single -blinded way:fifty patients were as study group, who were treated by atrovastatin;fifteen patients were as control group, who were not treated by atrovastatin. The other treatments were same in both groups.5ml blood were collected from peripheral vein before and after treatment for 4 weeks with atrovastatin.IL-18 was measured with ELISA methods and HS-CRP was measured with automatic biochemistry analysis instrument.T-test statistical method and F-test statistical method were applied, the levels of IL-18 and HS-CRP of the patients with ACS were compared before and after taking atrovastatin and not taking atrovastatin for 4 weeks in both groups. Results:The levels of Hs-CRP in study group(n=50) were 14.7160±6.8027mg/dl and 2.6180±2.0913 mg/dl respectively before and after treatment for 4 weeks, which were different significantly(p<0.01);The levels of IL-18 in study group(n=50)were 1.2869±4.9766ng/l and 0.8411±0.3473ng/l before and after treatment for 4 weeks respectively, which were different significantly too(p<0.01).The levels of Hs-CRP in control group(n=15) were 12.6733±4.9766 mg/l and 6.5600±3.2839mg/l respectively before and after treatment for 4 weeks, which were different significantly(p<0.01);The levels of IL-18 in control group(n=15) were1.2941±0.1799 ng/l and 1.0374±0.1930ng/l before and after treatment for 4 weeks, which were different significantly(p<0.01).By F-Test,the levels of HS-CRP and IL-18 in both groups were not different before treatment, but the ones in both group were different significantly after treatment(P<0.01).Conclusion:The levels of serum inflammation factors including IL-18 and Hs-CRP in study group were decreased significantly after treatment for 4 weeks with artovastain, which were different from ones in control group significantly. It was possible that atrovastatin have anti-inflammation effect on patients with ACS. |
