Objective:To understand the situation of quality of life(QOL) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DM) and investigate physiological and psychosocial factors affecting QOL.Methods:A total of 170 patients with type 2 DM were evaluated with a self-designed demography data questionnaire,Diabetes-Specific Quality-of-Life Scale(DSQL), Multidimensional health locus of control scale(MHLC),Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).Results:①A lower of QOL was found in type 2 DM patients,and the mean score of QOL by DSQL was(63.01±11.36).②Patients with older age,a low level of education, long duration of the disease,more complications and emotional disorders had poorer quality of life.③There was a negative correlative relation between internal locus of control,usage of support and the score of QOL;a positive correlative relation between depression,anxiety and the score of QOL.④There was a positive correlative relation between depression and anxiety,internal locus of control;a positive correlative relation between anxiety and chance locus of control;a negative correlative relation between the total score of social support and depression;a negative correlative relation between objective support,usage of support and depression,anxiety.⑤Multiple regression analysis showed that the influencing factors of QOL were:depression,duration of disease, internal locus of control,complications,anxiety,marital status,age,smoking.Conclusion:A general decrease of QOL was found in type 2 DM patients.Locus of control,emotional disorders,duration of the disease,and complications,marital status, age were the main influencing factors of QOL.So health providers should pay attention to these factors and help patients enhance the QOL by improving internal locus of control, keeping good mood,preventing and controlling complication in the health care process.
