Objectives:1.To investigate the anxiety and depression status of the relatives of tumour patients who were undergoing operations2.To explore the interrelated factors of anxiety and depression status in the relatives of tumour patients undergoing operations, which provides a theoretical basis to the implementation to the holistic nursing. Methods:Applying general status questionnaire, anxiety status scale, depression status scale and social support scale to investigate 160 relatives(Group A) of tumour patients whose diagnosis had been confirmed by pathological data and one hundred and sixty(156)relatives(Group B)of non-tumour patients before and during operations. Our research made a description on the relatives'general data and support system by statistical methods, and we made comparison in the fields of age, sex, education status and ect. between the two groups. We also compare the anxiety and depression status of relatives of patients with malignant tumors before operations with the status in operations. Our research involved the comparison about the anxiety and depression status between the two groups. The data we obtained were used to analyse the anxiety, depression status and influential factors.Results:1.All the people in Group A generally suffered from anxiety, depression status which was more severe than group B,and the difference had statistically significance(P<0.01).The female were more severe than male(P<0.05),but the difference was not found in depression status of Group A(P>0.05).The differences also exist in different age,sex and different education level in Group A(P<0.05).There were no statistically significance(P>0.05)basing on their marriaged states, occupation, payment, native place.2.The people in Group A were more anxiety during operation than before operation, which had statistically significance(P<0.01).The depression status suffered by the people in Group A2 had not statistically significance(P>0.05)compared with Group A13.The social support was higher in Group A and Group B compared with normal level in China(P<0.05),but between Group A and Group B,the difference had not statistically significance(P>0.05).4.The anxiety status of relatives of tumour patients had negative correlation with subjective support, objective support and social support degree(P<0.01),but it had no relationship with the availability of support(P>0.05)The depression status had no relationship with social support degree, whitch had not statistically significance(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.During operation, relatives of tumour patients suffered from anxiety and depression which is higher than those of non-tumour patients. Interrelated factors share education status. But the depression was also influenced by social support. 2.Anxiety status of relatives of tumour patients had significant negative correlation with social support, but depression status not.3.Operation can influence anxiety status of the relatives of tumour patients, which was more significant during operation than before operation, but depression status not.
