Clinical Studies On Primary Nephrotic Syndrome With Jia Wei Yang He Decoction

Backgroud:Nephrotic Syndrome(NS) is a group of clinical syntoms affected by variou s pathogenies. It acts as a amount of albuminuria, hypoalbuminemia, hyperlip idemia and various level of edema. It is believed that the treatment allevia tion rate of nephrotic syndrome is correlated positively with the livabilityof kidney. About 50% of steroid-resistant will become ending stage renal di seases. Pathology type, the levels of steroid receptor and steroid, hypercoa gulable state and infection are the main factors of making treatment hard. T he treatment of choice in western medicine is steroids and immunosuppressivedrugs. though it is effective ,the problems generated by recrudescence, ster oi-dependent and significant toxicity and side effects can not be ignored. U ntil now, Chinese Traditional Medicine or integrated Traditional Chinese Med icine and Western Medicine takes good effective in the treatment and accumul ates amount of experience in the field.Objectives:Our animal experimentation research proved that the Jia Wei Yang He Decoction takes good effective for nephrotic syndrome. Also the basis research confirm the pharmacological effects of parts of the prescription. Therefore it's necessary to make further research of Jia Wei Yang He decoction, for taking advance of Chinese Traditional Medicine and finding a new Method to cure the primary nephrotic syndrome.Method:A total of 45 patients according with the diagnostic standards were rand omly divided into treatment group and control group. The control group takes prednisone 1mg/kg per day orally for 8 weeks. On the premise of the control group treatment, the treatment group takes Jia Wei Yang He Decoction 1 page per day for 8 weeks. All of the patients were given other conventional therapy as routine. Record the symptom scores and lab index before and after the treatment, including the quantity of protein in the urine for 24-hour, urine routine test and blood routine test, blood-lipid test, blood coagulation test and kidney foundation test. Eventually, we calculate and analyze these data, and then make a conclusion.Results:The complete remission rates and total effective rates in treatment group were 8.69%,86.96%, respectively a little higher than that in control group 4.55%,81.82%(P>0.05), and no statistical difference between two groups.In improving the symptom such as edema, lumbago, abdominal distention and bad appetite, treatment group has a better curative effect than that in control group. There is a distinctive difference between two groups (p<0.05).The treatment group has a better curative effect than the control group in lessening the quantity of protein in the urine for 24-hour and raising the blood total protein, albumin. Also there is a distinctive difference between two groups (p<0.05).The blood urea nitrogen and the creatine of two groups were unaffected by the drugs, and no statistical difference between two groups.Conclusion:Using the Jia Wei Yang He Decoction on Primary Nephrotic Syndrome is safety and effective. It can lessen the quantity of protein in the urine for 24-hour and raise the blood total protein, albumin. Also can improve the symptom such as edema, lumbago, abdominal distention and bad appetite.
