Study On The Clinical Effects Of Mesalazine Combined With Probiotics In Patients With Ulcerative Colitis

Objective:To study the therapeutic effects of Mesalazine(etiasa fapyridinum) combined with Pei-fei-kang in patients with ulcerative colitis,to make sure how to choose a suitable method to treat the UC.Methods:This was a randomized controlled trial.Sixty-seven patients in QiLu Hospital from April 2005 to June 2007 were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group(n=39),control group(n=28);whom with light or moderate ulcerative colitis at active stage.The patients in control group were only received Mesalazine (etiasa fapyridinum)therapy;treatment group received Mesalazine(etiasa fapyridinum)combined with Pei-fei-kang therapy.The treatment group also was divided into two groups randomly:the A group(n=24),receiving etiasa fapyridinum and Pei-fei-kang therapy from begin;while the B group(n=16)receiving Pei-fei-kang therapy after symptom relieve.The curative effect,the reoccurrence in 6 months,the change of main symptoms before and after treatment and the drug adverse reaction were evaluated.Results:There existed an obvious difference in symptom relief,such as abdominal pain,diarrhea,mucus bloody stool and tenesmus,between the treatment group and control group after treatment(p<0.05);the adverse reaction in treatment group was slight.After treatment,clinical general therapeutic effect of cure,improved and failure in patients in treatment group were 19,17,3,and total effective percentage was 92.3%as compared with 10,12,6,total effective percentage of 78.6%in control group.Clinical general therapeutic effects of treatment group were better than that of the control group.The total remission percentage and total effective percentage were significantly different in two groups(p < 0.05).The reoccurrence in 6 months of control group(17.86%)was significantly higher than that of treatent group(7.69%)(p< 0.05).The total effective percentage and the reoccurrence in 6 months no obvious difference between the treatment A and B group.Conclusion:Ulcerative colitis(UC)is main related to the factors of infection, immunity,etc.The principal medications treating UC include aminosalicylic acid agents,corticosteroids,immunosupp ressants,antimicrobials and beneficial bacteria, biological therapy,Chinese medicine and so on.In recent years,the study has suggested that serious imbalance of intestinal microecology is closely related to the development of UC,and thus the research and application of probiotics have received increasing attention.Pei-fei-kangis made up of bifidobacterium,lactobacillus,enterococcus,which will keep the balance of intestinal microecology and also be used to treat UC.According to the trial,conclusions the combined treatment with Mesalazine(etiasa fapyridinum)and Pei-fei-kang is of better and safe curative effect for ulcerative colitis and it can reduce the reoccurrence.
