| Objective: To report the operation and curative effect of six cases of patients who could not survive without respirator because of valvular heart disease,Methods: Clinical features and related information on diagnosis and treatment of 6 cases of patients with valvular heart disease suffering from heart failure and could not survive without respirator from February 2006 to January 2008 were retrospectively analyzed. And we reviewed the related literatures.Results: Three cases were female, and the other three were male, 45 to 71 years old, and the average age was 55 years old. Two cases suffered from severe mitral valve stenosis accompanied by mitral insufficiency; three cases suffered from mitral valve prolapse, one case was patient whom have been underwent renal transplantation 6 years before suffered from Infective endocarditis and aortic valve stenosis. All six patients suffered from heart failure and different degree of infection of lungs, and receiving mechanical ventilation for long time, which were exactly 9 to 45 days. All patients underwent operation of valve replacement after consummate preparation. Five patients revived well after operation and achieved good function of respiration, the patient whom have been underwent renal transplantation haven't survived because of repeatedly infection and multiple organ failure.Conclusion: Intervention of operation should be beneficial on the basis of consummate preparation and organ protection for patients who suffering from valve disease induced heart failure which conservative treatment can not achieve satisfactory effect. |
