Background and ObjectiveBradykinin actions mainly on bradykinin receptors. After the discovering of the polymorphisms of humanβ2 bradykinin receptor gene, many researches have been done to investigate their relationships with the cardiovascular diseases, but no researches have reported their relationships with the occurrence of the coronary atherosclerosis heart diseases(CAD).The -58C/T polymorphism of the promoter region in humanβ2 bradykinin receptor gene is one member of the polymorphisms of humanβ2 bradykinin receptor gene, and its relationship with hypertension disease has been reported. Our research is designed to investigate the relationships between the -58C/T polymorphism of the promoter region in humanβ2 bradykinin receptor gene and the coronary atherosclerosis heart diseases in Chinese Han people.Methods152 subjects with angiographically confirmed coronary artery disease and 175 age-and sex-matched controls with angiographically excluded coronary artery disease were studied. All the subjects are the inpatients of cardiovascular department of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital from November,2005 to April,2007.The -58C/T single nucleotide polymorphism were detected by polymerase chain reaction/single-strand conformation polymorphism(PCR/SSCP).Results1.The frequencies of C allele and T allele in CAD group were 0.443 and 0.557 comparing with the frequencies of 0.423 and 0.577 in control group, both allelic frequencies were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, but no significant difference was found between two groups. (p=0.886)2.The frequencies of C allele and T allele with hypertension disease in CAD group were 0.455 and 0.545 comparing with the frequencies of 0.420 and 0.580 without hypertension disease in the same group, both allelic frequencies were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, but no significant difference was found between two groups.(p=0.613)3.The frequencies of C allele and T allele with in CAD group were 0.426 and 0.574 comparing with the frequencies of 0.527 and 0.473 without type 2 diabetes meilitus in the same group, both allelic frequencies were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium, but no significant difference was found between two groups.(p=0.613)ConclusionIn Chinese Han people, the -58C/T polymorphism of the promoter region of humanβ2 bradykinin receptor gene may be not a risk factor in coronary artery disease, and its relationship with the cardiavascular disease should be discussed further.
