Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the KAP towards hypertension. By health education and promotion activity for community population and reinforcement intervention for hypertension patients were carried out, to raise the level of KAP of the Kazakh group, change the life style, low the blood pressure level, in order to provide bases for establishing hypertension prevention measure about the Kazakh group. Method: A quasi-experimental study design was adopted. This research includes three stages. The first stage is about basic investigation and analysis,in which the result was used to plan Community-based intervention. The Kazakh population was randomized selected 1832 settled Herdsmen above 18 years old from Gangou township and gained 919 patients with hypertension, as baseline survey research objects in Urumqi Nanshan pastoral areas, in accordance with its risk factors, develop intervention plan .The second stage is about Community intervention trial, which lasted for 8 months. It included a primary prevention of hypertension and health education intervention. At last stage,we evaluate effectiveness of the intervention by the change of KAP and blood pressure on hypertension. Results:1)The whole Kazak crowd:①The level of knowledge(K) was improved from 11.9% to 60.0%,attitude(A) increased from13.8% to 57.3%,and behaviors(P) increased from 14.0% to 34.6% in the intervention community. The control pastoral did not change significantly.②After the intervention, the Kazak people smoking, preference fat, high perturbation salt, vegetable intake inadequate compared with the control group were statistically significant (P<0.001).③The average levels of systolic blood pressure and dialogical blood pressure were 133.99±20.35mmHg and 86.45±12.60mmHg respectively. The prevalence of hypertension was averaged 50.16%. The intervention community the systolic blood decreased 1.43mmHg, diastolic pressure was decreased 0.25 mmHg. But Comparing to the contrast community, the systolic blood has statistically significant (P<0.05).④The intervention community crowd grade level, there was statistically significant (P=0.001) between pre-intervention and post-intervention. 2) The Kazak patients with hypertension.①The Kazak hypertension patients the related hypertensional knowledge, attitudes and behavior (KAP), have a marked improvement, significant differences (P <0.001).②The main risk factors were drinking, Increased dietary salt, smoking, age, overweight/obesity from high to low by the multivariate logistic regression analysis among Kazakh group in South Mountain of the Urumqi. After the intervention, the Kazak patients with hypertension, smoking, preference fat, high-salt perturbation volume, inadequate intake of vegetables, these aspects of the risk factors are statistically significant (P = 0.000).③Comparing to the baseline, the systolic blood pressure of the hypertension patients, in the intervention community decreased 5.02mmHg and diastolic pressure was decreased 1.86mmHg,there was statistically significant (P<0.01) between pre-intervention and post-intervention.④After the intervention, the blood pressure level classification was statistical significance between the intervention group and control group patients with hypertension (P=0.014). Conclusion: On the pastoral Kazak, by health education and promotion activity for community population and reinforcement intervention for hypertension patients to raise the level of KAP of the Kazakh group, change the life style, decreas the blood pressure level is effective and practicable.
