| Purpose To explore the feature of lipid metabolism and the correlation between thyroid hormone and serum lipid level in patients with hyperthyroidism. Materials and Methods 186 hyperthyroid patients, 91 hyperthyroid patients in remission stage were involved in the study. According to the course of hyperthyroidism, 186 hyperthyroid patients were grouped into three subgroups: A1(the course less than 2years) include 93 patients, A2(the course between 2 and 5 years) include 56 patients, A3(the course more than 5years) include 37 patients. Thyroid hormone (total triiodothyronine, total tetraiodo -thyronine, thyroid stimulating hormone)and serum lipid level(triglyceride, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, apolipoprotein Aâ… , apolipoprotein B, lipoprotein(a))were determined in all objects of the study.Result TT3,TT4 increased significantly(P<0.01), TSH decreased significantly(P<0.01), TC,HDL-C,LDL-C,Apo-A1,Lp(a) decreased significantly (P<0.01), TG decreased(P<0.05)in hyperthyroid patients as Compared to hyperthyroid patients in remission stage, there was no significant change of the expression of Apo-B in two groups(P>0.05). There was no significant change of serum lipid levels in three groups hyperthyroid patients with different course of hyperthyroidism(all P>0.05). In all patients with hyperthyroidism, TC,HDL-C,LDL-C,Apo-A1,Lp(a) correlated with TT3,TT4 significantly(all P<0.01), there was no relationship between TG,Apo-B and TT3,TT4 (all P>0.05). Conclusion Hyperthyroidism influence lipid metabolism. the serum lipid level of patients with hyperthyroidism reduced generally(besides apolipoprotein B in this research), this prompted the existence of low serum lipid levels in hyperthyroid patients, it is one of reasons that hyperthyroid patients little suffer from coronary disease; There is no relationship between serious degree of dyslipidemia in hyperthyroid patients and course of disease, possible reason is that objects entered the research already accepted the intervention treatment of hyperthyroidism;There is relationship of negative correlation between thyroid hormone and each item of serum lipid level (besides triglyceride and apolipoprotein B in this research). Along with alleviation of hyperthyroidism (The thyroid hormone restores normally), The serum lipid level also restores normally. The more serious the condition of hyperthyroidism is (the higher the thyroid hormone level is), the lower the each serum lipid target is. The reduced degree of serum lipid may be of value to the prediction of the disease condition and effect of therapy. |
