Study On The Risk Factors Of Hypoglycemia In Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Objective The aim of this study was to explore the risk factors of hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetic patients of department of endocrine in first teaching hospitol of XinJiang medical university. Methods A hospital based case-control study was conducted.150 pairs of subjects were recruited.The cases were considered to be hypoglycemia patients and the controls were considered by type 2 diabetic patients without hypoglycemia. The cases were observed from Department of endocrine in first teaching hospitol of XinJiang medical university form January to December in 2007.Information was included gender,age, duration of diabetes, body mass index(BMI), circumference of abdomen, fasting blood glucose(FBG),glyceated hemoglobin AIC(HbAlc),creatinine(Cr), urinary microalbumin(UMA) , endogenous creatinine clearance rate(Ccr) , treatment etc. Chi-square test was used to analyze count data on univariate analysis.. Stepwise regressive multifactor analysis was performed on above factors. Results Through univariate conditional Chi-square test ,hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetes significantly associations with gender,age, durationg of diabetes, circumference of abdomen, FBG,Cr, UMA,Cr,treatment(P<0.05).The results of multivariate conditional logistic analysis showed that age, durationg of diabetes, circumference of abdomen, FBG,Ccr(P<0.05) were still related to hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetes. Conclusions age, durationg of diabetes, circumference of abdomen, FBG,Ccr(P<0.05) are the reversely associated wih thte developmnet of hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetes.
