| Gu-Sui-Bu (Drynaria fortunei J. Sm) is widely used in traditional chinese medicine in orthopedics for a very long history, and has been proved to be effective on recovery of bone fracture, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and other bone diseases. The flavones components are believed the virtual ingredients. For the better use of Gu-Sui-Bu, the flavones components was extracted by ordinary process and further purified by the macrospores resins. Furthermore, its effervescent tablet of its total flavones from Gu-Sui-Bu had been prepared, and its quality control methods had been detail studied.The optimistic extraction process was chosen by orthogonal test. The conditions of extraction were valid to be: the raw roots were extracted for 3 times(60min/time) by using 60% ethanol,total amount is 12 times of the raw roots.7 types of macrospores resins were studied for the purification process of its the flavones component, and the AB-8 type showed the best one. And the best purification is the ratio of the crude drug and the macrospores resin is 1:1, the adsorption elution is 50% ethanol and flow rate of elution is 1ml/min, elution volume is 6 times. The content of total flavones is 70% and more in the final product.Furthermore, the preparation process of the effervescent tablet was studied. The quantity and ration of acid and base was investigated as well as the other recipients. It is made certain that the most suitable molding conditions: the proportion of the tartaric acid and sodium bicarbonates is 1:1 , and of the medication and effervescent materials is 1:1:1. The other excipient is mannitol as diluents.Finally its quality control of the total flavones of Gu-Sui-Bu and its effervescent tablet were studied. The assay of total flavones was determined by UV, and naringin is by HPLC. The methods were proved to be valid.
