Objective: To analysis the clinical characteristics, causative mechanism and the recovery situation of sciatic nerve injury .Method: A retrospective analysis was conducted among 21 patients with acetabular fracture and hip dislocation complicated with sciatic nerve injury., male 12,female 9, age 20 to 45years old and average 38. 95±10. 45 years old. 21 patients were treated by operation, the fractures were reduced and fixed with reconstructive plates and screws .The neurolysis and nerve anastomasis about the sciatic nerve were performed. Using the electrophysiological technique to record the nerve conductive velocity before and after operation. Result: All of the cases were followed up for about 4 months to 5 years. 9 of this cases were common peroneal nerve injury .There were 2 cases obtained excellent recovery,2 cases obtained good recovery ,3 cases obtained fair recovery ,2 cases obtained poor recovery .In this group, 1 lcases were common peroneal nerve associate with tibial nerve injury . The occurrence of excellent nerve recovery were 2 cases ,good recovery were 3 cases ,fair recovery was 3 cases ,poor recovery was 3 cases in this group .The nerve velocities of post-operation were faster than before operation. Conclusion: Traffic accident is the main causive mechanism causing acetabular fractures and dislocation of hip. m ost of sciatic nerve injury are common peroneal nerve injuries and common peroneal associate with tibial nerve injuries . The operative treatment of internal fixation and nerve exploration are beneficial to the recovery of sciatic nerve. |
