【Objective】1. To develop the Renal Transplant Recipients'self-management scal.2. To investigate self-management status and influence factors in renal transplant outpatients.3. To explore the relationship between self-management and the character trait, self- efficacy, social support.【Methods】A study was carried out at Outpatient Department of urinary surgery in Fuzhou General hospital from January to December in 2006. The recipients who have discharged from hospital beyond six months. Self-management status, the character trait, self- efficacy, social support and influence factors were assessed by using self-designed questionnaire besides Renal Transplant Recipients'self-management scale, EPQ, GSES, and SSRS questionnaires. Analysis of data was adopted descriptive statistics include frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression analysis.【Results】1. Reliability and Validity of the scale(1) Reliability of the scale The inventory had satisfying reliability. For the overall scale Cronbach'αcoefficient was 0.899, the split-scale reliability was 0.828. The test-retest correlation coefficient of the scale was 0.857.(2) Validity of the scaleThe content validity index(CVI) for the overall scale was 0.927. The correlation coefficients between dimensionsand overall of the scale were 0.682~0.874. The method of principle components was used for factor analysis, 4 factors were forced to extract on the standard that eigenvalues is over 1. Accum contribution rate is 53.68%. The structure of the scale was matched with the theoretical construction.2. The level of self-management of renal transplant recipients was at moderate level.3. There was significant difference of self-management among Renal Transplant Recipients with different character trait.4. According to Pearson correlation analysis, there were positive relation between Self-management and self-efficacy, r =0.660(P<0.01).5. According to Pearson correlation analysis, Self-management was positively associated with social support, utility of social support, objective social support and subjective social support, r =0.338~0.523(P<0.01).6. According to multiple linear regression analysis, the influence of self-management was significant following as: self- efficacy, social support, gender, education level.【Conclusions】1. The scale developed in the study has good reliability and validity. It is available to measure renal transplant recipients'self-management level, to find the secipients'shortages in the field, to improve the Quality of clinical nursing and to elevate recipients'self-management level.2. The level of self-management of Renal Transplant Recipients was at moderate level.3. Female has much self-management level than male. Recipients with under 30 yaers old have the lowest self-management level. Occupation as leader has much self-management level than peasant. Married recipients have much self-management level than unmarried and dissociated recipients. Time since transplantation was negatively associated with self-management. The much education level and family income, the much self-management level.4. There was significant difference of self-management among renal transplant recipients with different character trait. Recipients who have sanguineous temperament or bilious temperament have much self-management level than recipients who have melancholic temperament.5. According to Pearson correlation analysis, there were positive relation between Self-management and self- efficacy, social support and it's three dimensions.6. The influence of self-management was significant following as: self-efficacy , social support, gender, education level.
