Object:To investigate and analyze the requirement of community health education, the content of community nurses developed health education and the status of community nurses mastered the knowledge and skills of community health education. We want to find the influencing factors which effect community nurses developed health education, then we advance some suggests. In order to provide gist for community sanitation service and manager of nursing to develop community nursing health education. It ensured community health education to be developed scientifically and effectively. Consequently, to improve the quality of community nursing service, to maintain and promote health lever of resident.Methods: Two-stage cluster sampling design and cluster sampling design were used to select samples. By means of face-to face questionnaire and interview, we investigated 500 families in the City of Shihezi, 42 managers and 151 community nurses who worked in 42 community hygiene service organizations in Shihezi City. Data was managed and inputted with software of Epidata2.0. All statistical analysis were performed using the SPSS11.5 statistical software.Results: Residents hope community nurses to develop kinds of community health education services. They bring forward that the main requirements are the knowledge of health life style(70.8%), knowledge and skills of first aid in family(68.8%)and preventing infectious disease(68.1%). The most likely manner of health education were health throwaway(67.8%), health knowledge consultation(62.4%)and health examine for free(62.4%). Community nurses' main tasks about health education are to propagandize the knowledge of health life style(86.8%)and the knowledge of preventing chronic disease(82.8%)through health consultation(78.8%), community hygiene service organization is main education place(98.6%)and the patient of service station is main education object. Community nurses mastered commonly the knowledge of prevention and health care, but lack of the theory and skill of health education. The exterior influencing factors of community nurses to develop health education were fall short of community nurses, interrelated information and circumstance, lease-lend, and understanding of residents. The interior influencing factors mainly is the status of community nurses mastered the knowledge and skills of community health education. Academic career, time of cultivate, year of nursing and year of community nursing have important infection to it(P<0.05).Conclusion: Residents has stronger health belief, put forward higher needs for knowledge and skill of community health education. At present, health education which community nurses developed is at the lever of sanitation propagandizes. The status of community nurses master the knowledge and skill of health education exists limitation in different degree. We propose that government should establish and consummate the interrelated policy and system; increase moderately plough into the physical aspect of nursing resource, financing, interrelated information and so on; must strengthen the training of community nurses about knowledge and skills of health education.
