Objective:Hexachlorocyclohexane(HCH), polychlorinated biphenyl(PCNB), and dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane(DDT) are organochlorines. Though they were banned in 1983 by the government, they could be accumulated in great quantity in the environment, bodies of animals and plants, for they are stable, degrade very slowly and residue for long time. They could be accumulate in human bodies by biological enrichment and food chain subsequently. It was shown in lots of reports that organochlorines residued in environmental medium, food and biological samples of human beings.Organochlorines induced a high incidence rate of cancer in experimental rats. They were related to breast cancer, carcinoma of endometrium, liver cancer ,etc. in epidemiology. These years,in Europe, the reports were many, which were about the relationship between the organochlorines and breast cancer. But the reports were less in China. They were related to breast cancer, which included the organochlorines remaining levels in serum, occupational contacting the organochlorines and taking chlorinated water. In Europe and America, there were many research showing that the levels of DDT and PCNB in adipose tissue and plasma might be related to the incidence of breast cancer. However, there were some opposite opinions. In order to study the relationship between organochlorines and the incidence of breast cancer, reveal a part of its etiology, and then expound the etiology and pathogenesis of breast cancer more detailedly, and offer more information to the prevention and control measures of breast cancer, we conducted an case-control study in Chengde. Methods:Collecting the data of the 177 patients who could have had the breast disease and visited the Affiliated Hospital of the Chengde Medical College from 2005.3 to 2006.10.Telling them the purpose and the meaning of this research, we have signed the agreement treaty with the agreement of themselves. We registed the data of the patients, and made a questionaire. To keep blood specimens of the patients about 5 millilitre in the morning on an empty stomach and a post-operation specimens about 10 gramma. The serum specimens would be dealt with by the pesticide measurement methods according to the appendixⅨQ of the China Pharmacopoeia, and the fat tissue specimens would be dealt with according to the methods of the articals which provided by the American Pacific Ocean Medical Center, and have the immunohistochemistry measurement.Specimens had been measured the organochlorines residue by the gas chromatgraphy. The initial data would be put into the camputer and built the data base.We would have a statistic anslysis with the SPSS 13.0 which have been common used around the world. Results:l The residue of the organochlorines of cases and controls The residue of the organochlorines observed in the serum and fat tissue of cases and controls.Theβ-BHC, PCTA could be detected mainly in serum, while theβ-BHC,PCTA and PP'-DDE mainly detected in fat tissue. In resum the organochlorines ofβ-BHC and PCTA have significant difference between cases and controls(OR>2,P<0.05). Meanwhile in fat tissue the organochlorines ofβ-BHC,PCTA,PP'-DDE have statistical significance between cases and controls(OR>2,P<0.05).And the country patients are more.2 The relationship among the organochlorines residue, the hormone receptor and breast cancerThe estrogen receptor positive cases have more exposing of the organochlorines than the controls. It has statistical significance (OR>1,P<0.05). But there were not notably meaning of the exposing of the organochlorines between the progestogen receptor positive breast cancer and the progestogen receptor negative breast cancer(P>0.05).The pre-menopausal cases patients have more exposing of the organochlorines than the controls ,especially of the PCTA in fat tissue. It has statistical significance(OR>1,P=0.03<0.05).While theβ-HCH and PCTA in serum and theβ-HCH and PP'-DDE in fat tissue were not between pre-menopausal and post- menopausal patients(P>0.05).3 The effecting of the organochlorines residue to the biological behavior of breast cancerThe more malignant of infitrating ductal carcinoma of breast cancer (stageⅠ,stageⅡ,stageⅢ),it has more exposing of the organochlorines. It has the statistical significance (P<0.05).Conclusions:1 We could detect the residue of HCH,PCNB and DDT in serum and fat tissue of the 177 patients. The residue ofβ-HCH and PCTA in serum in cases is much more than controls. And the residue ofβ-HCH ,PCTA and PP'-DDE in fat tissue is much more than controls.2 There is relationship between the exposure of the organochlorines and the incidence of breast cancer probablily. The more exposing of organochlo- rines,it has more risk to have breast cancer.3 The estrogen receptor positive breast cancer patients have more exposing of the organochlorines than the estrogen receptor negative breast cancer patients. The exposing of the organochlorines could induce the incidence of the estrogen receptor positive breast cancer.4 The more exposing of the organochlorines in patients,it is more malignant of infitrating ductal carcinoma of breast cancer. This research proved that the exposing of the organochlorines could induce the incidence of the breast cancer, especially the estrogen receptor positive breast cancer. It would be very helpful to the prevention of the breast cancer, which means the etiologic prevention. On this subject, we need to explain the pathogenesis of the organochlorines furthermore detaily, investigate the epidemiology and clarify the pollution and residue of the organochlorines .
