| Aim To discussing the clinic prognostic markers about astrocyte t-umors , supplying the choice of clinic treatments and predicting the patient's prognostic outcome .Methods The medical data of 124 cases with Astrocytic tumours, which were admited to the department of neurosurgery ,Xiangya hospital, were analyzed by univariate and multivariate analyses. The Kaplan-Meier method, Log-rank test and the Cox-regression model were used to analyze the prognostic factor. Results (1)General information: There were 124 patients in the follow-up team. At a median follow-up of 32 months. Patient's mean age at diagnosis were 33.32 years. There were 73 men (58.9%) and 51(41.1%) women. The durations of symptoms was 4 days to 30 years(mean 27.4 months). The PST and overall survival at 3. 5years were:79.12 months. 76.2% and 60.4%,which were 91.55 months,83.5% and 71.6% in LGGs, but the PST and survival were only 38.68 months and 38.4% in HGGs ;(2) On univariate analysis : the following factors have favorable influence on PST:age<40,total or subtotal tumor resection, low-grade histology, position of ventricle. But sex, seizure, volume, score of KPS,surgery plus postoperative radiotherapy and (or)chemotherapy may have no relation to the patient's prognostic outcome.(3) On multivariate analysis only extent of resection, histological grade, age and duration of symptoms before diagnosis retained significance. Conclusion (1)this team has better prognostic outcome;(2)Not only LGGs but also HGGs, surgery is the first choice ;(3)Patients with total resection possibly,low-histolo- gical grade,age<40 and longer duration of symptoms before diagnosis have better outcome;(4) position of ventricle may have better outcome;... |
