Background and Objective :Studied indication :Apoptosis by induced was the common path a lot of antitumor drug that was to produce a marked effect . Bcl-2 gene and bax gene belonged to bcl-2 gene family were important apoptotic controlling gene in a series of apoptotic controlling genes of participatings apoptosis , and they were deemed that were one of eventually common path . The study was designed to investigate the relationship between chemotherapy drug and the expressions of bcl-2,bax and theirs clinical significance by observation the diversity of expression of bcl-2 , Bax proteins and apoptosis positivity before chemotherapy and after single drug through before operation in patients with cervical carcinoma .Methods: The specimens from 55 cases of cervical carcinoma before chemotherapy and after chemotherapy with single drug were detected the diversity of positive expression rates of bcl-2,bax proteins by S-P immunohistochemical method and the diversity of apoptosis positivity by TUNEL method. Results: The tissues of cervical carcinoma after chemotherapy with single Topotecan were evaluated of curative effect by microscopic lens. The rates of inefficacy and efficacy were (14+5/55)34.5% and (36/55)65.5%, the rates of inefficacy was higher than the rates of efficacy; The positive expression rates of bcl-2 proteins in patients with cervical carcinoma before and after chemotherapy were respectively :54. 5% and 49. 1% , it had not statistical significances (P>0. 05) ; The positive expression rates of bax proteins in patients with cervical carcinoma before and after chemotherapy were respectively : 50.9% and 74.5%, it had evidently statistical significances (P<0.05) ; The expression of apoptosis positivity in patients with cervical carcinoma before and after chemotherapy respectively were : 41.8%,50.9% , it had not evidently statistical significance (P >0.05): The positive expression rates of bcl-2 proteins before chemotherapy in cases of inefficacy, efficacy with cervical carcinoma treated by Topotecan were respectively : 55.6%,52.6% ,there were not significant difference between the two groups (P >0.05). The positive rates of bax proteins before chemotherapy in cases of inefficacy, efficacy with cervical carcinoma treated by Topotecan were respectively : 44.4%,63.2% , there were not significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusions: 1. Topotecan that was the chemotherapy drug had positive function of anti-cancer. 2. One of the path of inhibition tumor development of Toputecan was up-regulate the expression of bax proteins so that rivalried that bcl-2 proteins inhibited apoptosis of tumor cells . 3. The higher or lower of the expression of bcl-2 proteins and bax proteins were not predict the index of curative effect of chemotherapy.4.The curative effect of chemotherapy in cervical carcinoma which used single Topotecan was not ideal.
