Studies On The Quality Control Standard And Pharmacokinetics Of Cinnamic Acid Of Guanxin Suhe Pill (Guanxin Suhe Capsule)

Guanxin Suhe pill and Guanxin Suhe capsule are composed of 5 kinds of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Styrax, Borneolum, Olibanum, Radix aristolochiae, Lignum santalialbi, according to the pharmacodynamics of Heji Ju Fang in the age of Chinese dynasty, having the power of regulating vital energy , eliminating stasis to active blood circulation and acesodyne. And Guanxin Suhe pill has been listed in first of the 2000's edition of "Pharmacopeia of People's Republic of China". Cinnamic acid and Borneol are the major effective constituent of Guanxin Suhe pill and Guanxin Suhe capsule . This paper is about studies on the quality control standard and pharmacokinetics of Guanxin Suhe pill and Guanxin Suhe capsule.(1) Styrax, Borneolum, Olibanum, Radix aristolochiae, Lignum santalialbi in Guanxin Suhe pill and Guanxin Suhe capsule were identified by TLC with the posts clear and reproducible.(2) The methods were developed to determine the contents of cinnamic acid and borneol in Guanxin Suhe pill. A HPLC method was developed to determine the contents of cinnamic acid in Guanxin Suhe pill. The analysis was carried on a column of Kromasil C₁₈(250 mm×4.6 mm ID,5 μm) with a mobile phase of methanol-acetonitrile-water-glacial acetic acid(10 : 22 : 55 : 0.5, v/v), detecting wavelength being 270 nm, the flow rate being 0.8 mL·min^-1, the column temperature being home temperature. The linear range of cinnamic acid was 0.396 3 .96 μg-mL^-1 (r = 0.9999, n = 6). The average recovery was 98.9%( RSD = 1.9%, n = 9 ) in Guanxin Suhe Pill. The method was found to be simple and accurate for the analysis of cinnamic acid in Guanxin Suhe pill and provided a reliable way for evaluating the quality of it.A GC method was developed to determine the contents of borneol in Guanxin Suhe pill.
