Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegeneration disorder that significantly impairs learning and memory. The morbidity of AD among the old people is only lower than that of angiocardiopathy and cancer. Pathological changes in AD are characterized by the formation of senile plaques and neurofibibrillary tangles as well as extensive neurons loss. Amyloid beta protein(Aβ), a causative molecule in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease and the major ingredient of senile plaques, plays a critical role in the development of AD. The complicated mechanism of the Aβ -mediated pathogenesis involves in various biological processes including gene mutation, oxidative stress, program cell death(apoptosis), signal transduction and immuno-inflammation. To investigate the mechanisms of the A β -mediated pathogenesis, we constructed the cell model of Alzheimer's disease with SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells induced by A β 25-35, and screened the differentially expressed genes between the A β induced cell model and normal SH-SY5Y cells by using Agilent Human 1B oligo microarray.
