| Metastasis is one of the most important biological features of malignant tumor. It is a multistep and complicated process. It involves tumor cells'invasion and adhesive process. Now different expressions of PTEN and Ki-67 have been studied in various human carcinomas. Such as endometrial carcinoma, ovarian carcinoma, gliblastomas nephroblastoma.. But the expression of PTEN and Ki-67 in gastric carcinoma have been little reported. Objective: To analyze the role of PTEN and Ki-67 in the invasion and metastasis of gastric carcinoma .Methods: Fifty patients with adequate histologic materials and complete clinical data were entered on to the study. According to sex, age lymph node metastasis, infiltrative deepness and differentiated patients were divided into ten groups. Every case were detected by S-P immunohistochemical method. Results: 24 cases were positive staining of PTEN (48%) in 50 cases gastric carcinoma. The expression level of PTEN in high differentiated adenocarcinoma was higher than that in low differentiated adenocarcinoma(P<0.01). Also, the loss or decreased expression of PTEN was significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis ,infiltrative deepness(P<0.01), but was not related to age or sex of the patient (P>0.05).Ki-67's expression trend was opposite to that of PTEN in differentiated, lymph node metastasis, infiltrative deepness(P<0.05). In the gastric carcinoma , negative correlation between expression of PTEN and Ki-67 was observed (P<0.05).Conclusions: PTEN's expression may have an important effect on the... |
