| Objective: To study the significance of expression of CD24 and PCNA in ovarian serous borderline epithelial tumors, to approach to the correlation with CD24 and PCNA ,to study the development , progression and turnover of ovarian serous borderline epithelial tumors by molecule adhesion and cell proliferation in order to determine the prognosis. Methods: Immunohistochemistry method was used to examine CD24 and PCNA protein expression in ovarian serous borderline epithelial tumors(n=20) and malignant tumors(n=20) and benign tumors(n=12) of contrast group. Results: The positive expression of CD24 was localized to the apical membranous portion and cytoplasm .In ovarian serous benign, borderline and malignant tumors, the membranous expression was observed. In some borderline and malignant tumors, additional cytoplasmic expression was also observed . Of the borderline tumors, the cytoplasmic expression rate of CD24 was 55%,which was significantily higher than those of benign(0%) and lower than those of malignant(85%) tumors(P=0.0384).The positive expression of PCNA was localized to the nucleus. The positive expression rate of PCNA was 25%,70% and 95% in the benign, borderline and malignant tumors. The difference was significant between every two groups. An association between PCNA and CD24 was found( r=0.5528,P=0.0134 )of ovarian serous borderline tumors. CD24 cytoplasmic expression... |
