ObjectiveComparing clinical data with postmortem pathological data to investigate the misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis in old patients and the veracity of clinical diagnosis. Comparing pathological diagnosis with electrocardiogram and Holter to investigate the relationship between coronary artery disease(CAD) ,aging and sick sinus syndrome(SSS) as well as ventricular arrhythmia(VA).Design and methodWe review 1010 cases with 843 males and 167 females with postmortem pathological data in our hospital from 1950 to 2005. According to the case numbers which have been found above, we found 650 clinical cases with 525 males and 125 females. Eliminating cases age less than 60 years old, we analysis the veracity of diagnosis of CAD and the etiology of SSS and VA in the remains. The pathologic data was noted as follows: weight of the heart, pathologic changes of coronary artery, myocardioinfarction(MI) or not, position of infarction, period of infarction, thickness of ventricular wall, valve orifice circumference, pathologic changes of valve, myocardial hypertrophy or not.The clinical data was noted as follows: general status, clinical diagnosis, degree of cardiac function, electrocardiogram, ambulatory electrocardiogram, echocardiography, radionuclide imaging, head computerized tomography, head magnetic resonance imaging, coronary angiocardiography, chest X-ray, blood index: peripheral blood, glucose, creatinine, urea, lipoprotein.Combining clinical data and pathologic data to establish database 1 consisting of...
