[Objective] To investigate the characteristics of multifocol visual evoked potetial (mfVEP) in visual field of anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (AION),and trace partly optic nerve lesion after invasion of AION,to provide objective A/W to diagnosis and prognosismonitoring of AION.[Methods] Carry out mfVEP detection to 30 AION (30 eyes) analysis second order kernel (SOK) .The reaction was divided to dimidiate and quartered field .Analysis the sum totol waves of every reaction ,to compare every sector ,primary compare the waveshape characreristic with AION eyes and fellow eyes or treatment circa of AION eye.[Results] The latencies were longer and the amplitudes were lower at the involed sector of AION eyes than those of fellow eyes .the latencies and amplitudes at the involed sector had some improment after threatment .(P<0.05)[Conclusions] MfVEP can be used for tracing the partly optic nerve lesion after invasion of AION. It not only display favourable repeatability along with hump period ,but also surpass field of vision and VEP when it was used to record abnormal sector .in addition ,the involed degree of all sectors in AION eyes were not alike recorded by mfVEP ,so when it was used to estimate partly optic nerve lesion ,it has obviously superiority compared to field of vision and VEP.
