Objective In order to provide information for the study of etiology, prevention and reproductive health service of Uygur male infertility, the risk factors of this disease were investigated. Method A paired case-control study was conducted including 133 cases and 133 controls with a ratio of 1:1.To investigate cases and controls by questionnaire, collecting the data of related study factors. Then we analyzed the relationship of those factors and Uygur male infertility by means of conditional Logistic regression model. Results The results of multivariate Logistic regression via SPSS 11.0 shows the risk factors of Uygur male mfertility were history of sexually transmitted diseases (OR=4.175, 95%CI: 1.292—13.489) ,behavior of multiple sex partner (OR=3.093, 95%CI: 1.681—5.690) ,smoking (OR=2.886, 95%CI: 1.543—5.399) and eating rude cotton seed oil ( OR=2.595 , 95%CI : 1.207 — 5.580) .Conclusion This study shows that Uygur male infertility was resulted from many factors like sexually transmitted diseases, behavior of multiple sex partner, smoking and eating rude cotton seed oil. To keep integrity intact, early active diagnosis and therapy of sexually transmitted diseases, no smoking or quit smoking, stop eating rude cotton seed oil is helpful for the prevention of Uygur male infertility.
