| Objective To validate and discuss histogenesis and essence of kaposi's sarcoma(KS). Methods Immunohistochemistry were performed with CD34,CD31,D2-40 and p53 marks.A total of 45 paraffin-embeded specimens in Xin Jing were studed, including30 KS lesions (14 nodular lesions,6plaque lesions and 2 patch lesions)and 15non-KS lesions(10 hemangiomas and 5 lymphangiomas). Results Among the 30 KS lesions, all specimens detected CD34 and D2-40 ,most express CD31. Simultaneously,CD34 and CD31 were found in blood and lymphatic vessels, D2-40 was not staind in blood vessels but in lymphatic vessels.The positive degree of p53 protein was stronger in KS than that in other benign tumors(P<0.01),whereas different types were compared no statistic significance(P>0.01). Conclusion KS originate from endothelial cells,and at least, portion originate from lymphatic endothelial cells. in addition, KS is not a benign disease. |
