Objective To study the tuberculosis (TB) control status quo and main factors influencing tuberculosis control of Ruoergai county. Furthermore to establish the measure and strategy of tuberculosis control which is more adapt to the population decentralization, traffic discommodity and minority zone. Methods Rouergai county was selected as the study field. We face-to-face interviewed suspected TB cases seeking the anti-tuberculosis organization with questionnaire. The questionnaire included social-economic and demography characteristic, the knowledge of TB, the course and confronting difficulty of suspected TB cases seeking health care. Qualitative data were collected by group discussion and referring to correlative records. The TB control status quo was described. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were combined to study the main influencing factors of TB control in Ruoergai county.Results 160 cases of suspected tuberculosis seeking health care of anti-tuberculosis organization were investigated by questionnaire. 42 cases of tuberculosis were detected from 160 cases of suspected tuberculosis. 85.6% suspected TB cases firstly sought non-anti-tuberculosis organization such as villages and towns infirmary, private clinic and polyclinic. Suspected tuberculosis seekers were lack of tuberculosis knowledge. Only 23.1% seekers had known some tuberculosis symptom before being sicken this time. 50.6% of 160 suspected TB cases had patients delay and 33.1% cases had doctors delay.
