Objective: This study aimed at constructing a registry system of 6to16-years-old twins in Chengdu, which was based on mental growth (including cognitive function and personality characteristics) and mental health. This registry system is useful to understand the children's and teenagers' genetic origin of mental growth and mental health, the interaction between heredity and environment, and the cause of character and disease occurrence.Methods: Questionnaire, one-to-one interview and cognitive test wereconducted for the 6 to16-years-old twin pairs in the elementary and middle schools in Chengdu and their parents and teachers. The main class teachers were asked to complete two scales: the teacher edition of Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) and Development and Well-Bing Assessment (DAWBA).
