Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors which affect the human being's health seriously. The incidence rate of this disease declines recently in Europe and Japan in the recent twenty or thirty years, but the number of new cases is increasing every year in the world due to aging. The incidence rate is the second among the male's malignant tumors and the third among those of females. In China, the gastric cancer is more common. Both of incidence and mortality rates of gastric cancer still occupy the first place in the list of all cancers, and it seriously affect the people's life and health, so as to become one of key disease concerned.Although some progress has been made on the etiology of gastric cancer, the risk factors of gastric cancer are reported inconsistently. It is thought that the cancer is caused by multiple risk factors such as diet which is the main risk factor, the life style and habit, drinking water, heredity and disease history, Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori), personality, psychology and physique. Our population-based case-control family design, based on a traditional epidemiological survey and genetic epidemiology, was conducted in rural of Xinxiang County and Xin'an County in Henan Province, to evaluate the etiology of gastric cancer and provide scientific evidence for taking effective prevention measures.Materials and methods:To study the relationship between the gastric cancer and such factors as life style...
