The activation of proto-oncogene and the dysfunction of suppressor gene play an important role in the carcinogenesis. p63 is one of the p53 families, the △Np63 ,which is an oncogene, is one of the types of p63. P33 is a suppressor gene, it can inhibit the growth of cells and induce apoptosis, in which P33 and p53 play a cooperative role. By the methods of hybridize in situ and immunohistochemistry, the expressions of △Np63 were detected in esophageal carcinoma tissues, corresponding normal tissues , dysplasia and EC9706 and Eca109 cells lines, and the carcinogenesis of △Np63 in esophageal carcinoma was analysed, By the methods of immunohistochemistry, the expressions of P33 were detected in esophageal carcinoma tissues, corresponding normal tissues , dysplasia and EC9706 and Eca109 cells lines, and the carcinogenesis of p33 in esophageal carcinoma was analysed, cells. The paper studied the functions of △Np63 and P33 and the correlation of them both in carcinogenesis and invasion and metastasis for esophageal carcinoma. Materials and methods:1 .By the method of immunohistochemistry ,the expressions of △Np63 were observed in 174 cases of surgically resected esophageal squamous carcinoma speciemans, which including the cases of carcinoma tissues and corresponding normal tiseues, as well as the expressions of △Np63 were inspected in Eca9706 和 Eca109 of esophageal carcinoma cells.
