| Objective: To study the application of neuroendoscopy onchronic subdural hematoma and to contrast the therapeutic effectsand follow-up resluts with traditional burr hole drainage. Methods: Total 24 patients whose ages, hemorrhage time andvalue were similar were randomly divided into experimental group(endoscopy therapeutic group) and control group (traditional drainagetherapeutic group) from 2004 July to 2006 march by modus operandi. The CT value, drainage, average in-hospital time, recurrence andintracranial pneumocephalus were analyzed by statistical methods. Results: The CT value of experimental group was much lowerthan that of control group, and the postoperative drainage and averagehospitalization time were so. 15 cases in control group sufferedintracranial pneumocephalus and 2 cases recurred. But in experimentalgroup only 2 cases suffered intracranial pneumocephalus and no caseoccurred. Conclusion: The therapy on CSDH by utilizing endoscopy oncomplete hematoma removal, reducing intracranial pneumocephalus, reducing recurrence and shortening average hospitalization time ismore predominant. The advantages are following: the invasion is littleand the recovery is rapid, the intracranial pneumocephalus can beprevented, the liquid in hematoma cavity can be diluted. So the factorof hematoma recurrence can be eliminated. |
