[Objectives] :To create the experimental model of extensive degloving injury and evaluate the influence of venous anastomoses for the survival of skin with reversed avulsion injury . [Methods]:1. 20 rear legs of 10 healthy Japanese white rabbits were randomized into two groups. One leg of each rabbit was used in study group randomly , the other one in control group automatically.2. The surgical procedures were carried out with the rabbits under general anaesthesia using Ketamine Hydrochloride. 3.3:1 distal-based avulsion skin was made of the back legs of experimental animal respectively. Two veins were anastomosised in experimental side, while the other side was just sutured back to the original size.3. Appearance of color, tension, degree of angioplerrosis, ecchymosis, swell and necrosis had been observed during the post-op period . The survival condition was evaluated based on survival area calculating in one month postoperation.4. Additional 2 rabbits were prepared for pathological examination ofone week postoperation. [Results]:1. In study group the degloving skin of one-month-postoperation was contracted to 69.1 % and 513 % degloving skin was survived. In control group the degloving skin of one-month-postoperation was contracted to 44.1% and 36.3 % degloving skin was survived. There were significant differences between the two groups ( P<0.05).2 In control group there were more serious degeneration and necrosis of the degloving skin in pathological examination one week after operation. [Conclusions]:1. The animal model of degloving injury is successful.2. The venous anastomoses may improve the survival of degloving skin by reducing the venous congestion and ameliorating the blood supply of degloving skin.
