The occurrence,the development process and trend of the syndrome norm researchThe study of modern syndrome begin in 1950s. The research of syndrome norm developed from 1980s step by step, and it conclude: concept of syndrome, classification ofsyndrome, nomination of syndrome, the normal study of diagnostic criterion of syndrome. The process of syndrome norm study include the stage of commencement—from midst of 1950s to primary of 1980s;the stage of expandedness—from the midst of 1980s to the end of 1990s;the stage of flourished development—from the end of 1990s to the first 4 years this century. A lot of experts devoted to this study, and get many results, such as the authoritative Chinese medicine criterion of People's Republic of China- Chinese medicine diagnostic criterion, the guidance criterion of clinical results of new Chinese medicine, criterion of People's Republic of China-the classification and code of Chinese medicine diseases-the name and classification code of Chinese medicine syndromeand so on, which are finished under the guidance of administration in our country. Besides, there are study of diagnosis and therapy of Chinese medicine, which is accomplished by Zhao En-jian, the study of diagnosis for Chinese medicine (the main author is Deng Tie-tao), differentiated diagnosis of Chinese medicine (the main author is ZhaoJin-duo), and so on.And there are criterion of diagnosis for syndrome finished by special group of Chinese medicine like the first and the second syndrome differentiation diagnostic criterion for stroke accomplished by the bureau of Chinese medicine. All these results showed that there were lots of helpful research to the criterion of Chinese medicine syndrome, which changed the condition of no criterion to Chinese medicine syndrome before and provided convenience for science work.However, the study of syndrome norm is still deficiency to this day. For instance, the explanation of syndrome concept, syndromename and syndrome classification are not identified. The relative terms are not normative. Therefore, it is difficult to compare for different results.The author reach some conclusion through the study of development process of syndrome norm. Firstly, we must realized that there is a long way to go for the research of syndrome norm, it is improving along with time and it is keeping updating along with the development of science and literae humaniores. Secondly, the work of Chinese medicine syndrome norm should be organized, coordinated by medicine administration. Thus, all the institutes of Chinese medicine, colleges and the academies of Chinese medicine could work together and investigate designedly to establish relative criterions. Thirdly, unification of the syndrome terms is primary and basic. Lastly, we should introduce modern medicine and all kinds of methods on the primary of insisting on Chinese medicine to standardize the study of Chinese medicine syndrome and main the individual diagnosis and treat characteristics of Chinese medicine.
