Objective: To compare the clinic effects of de-addiction with the therapy of scalp acupuncture plus methadone, body acupuncture plus methadone and simple methadone. In meantime, made a actively research in order that scalp acupuncture therary can take part in abstinence and reduce relapse rate. Method: The above 3 withdrawal treatment methods were given to 94 herion addicts and were randomly divided into three groups. The dynamic score of withdrawal symptoms was observed for 10 days. The effects of de-addiction were assessed with the opiate withdrawal scale. Result: The comparison among three groups showed Scalp acupuncture has the most marker effect( P<0.01) after 10 days withdrawal treatment.In the aspect of improveing the insomnia syndrome and angst syndrome, the effect of scalp acupuncture group was better than that of the other two groups( P<0.01). In the aspect of improveing body syndrome, two acupuncture groups had no different effect (P>0.05). the effect of two acupuncture groups was better than that of the simple methadone group(P<0.01). In the aspect of improveing angst syndrome, body acupuncture group and simple methadone group had no different effect, (P>0.05). Conclusion: Scalp acupuncture plus methadone therary reduced symptoms of heroin de-addiction period. The therary specially preceded the body acupuncture plus methadone and simple methadone in the aspect of improveing the insomnia syndrome and angst syndrome. At present, acupuncture-mox therapy is effective with noside-effects, lower cost and safety in improving withdrawal syndrome. The combination of scalp acupuncture and methadone can produce a synergic effect and had the potentiality of preventing relapse.
