Objective: to demonstrate the application of conjoint analysis(CA) for eliciting theviewer of health user in choosing hospital.Methods: to determine the hospital quality, service, price and waiting time as the mostimportant attributes in choice hospital by health user. These were built into a CAsurvey using orthogonal design. The survey was answered by 200 residents in Jinancity.Result: 191 interviewees complete the CA section. The service and the hospitalquality was the most important attributes considered. Price and waiting time wasconsidered less importance comparing with service and hospital quality. Segmentmodel showed that service and hospital quality was considered the most importantattributes in any group , however, price and waiting time were appeared diversitydepending on their different status.Conclusion: A high premium was placed on the service and hospital quality inchoosing hospital. CA may yield potentially policy-relevant information about healthuser preferences.
