Objective: To study the knowledge,Attitudes,Practices and its influ- ential factors in patient with type 2 Diabetes mellitus, and provide reference for developing productive health education strategies in future health-promotingactivities. Methods: A self-developed questionnaire was distributed to aunrandomly selected sample of 151 outpatient with Diabetes mellitus in hospitals, using the non-conditional logistic regression analysis to explore knowledge, attitudes, practice and its influential factors. Results: 1. The gross score ofknowledge was 11.74±3.60(3-19) in 151 patients, right answer rate of basic knowledge was 73.51%, that of diat knowledge 54.30%, medical knowledge 55.63%, exercise knowledge 49.17% and monitoring knowledge 22.68 % . According to right answer rate, knowledge lever from upper to lower in turn was basic knowledge, medical knowledge, diat knowledge, exercise knowledge .monitoring knowledge.Multiple logistic regression analysis identified level of education(OR=1.840), time of accepting education(OR=1.435) as signifinant factors influencing level of knowledge. The higher the education levels are, the more the time of accepting education is,and the better the level of knowledge is. Further analysis indicated the knowledge scores of senior high school group and above were significantly deferent from those of junior highschool group and under (P < 0.01) .2. The gross score of cure attitudes was 10.27±1.67(6-12) in 151 patients, including the score of diat attitudes was 2.75 + 0.45. attitudes of taking tablets according to prescription 2.60+0.49, exercise attitudes 2.58±0.50, self-monitor attitudes 2.38±0.56o By chi-square test ,151 patients first pay attention to diat cure , second attention to exercises and taking tablets according to prescription , last attention to monitoring. Multiple logistic regression analysis identified health knowledge (OR=1.194), occupation(OR=0J12) as significant factors influencing cure attitudes, the positive factor is health knowledge, the negative factor is occupation. And the scores of cure attitudes declined accompanied with age, but thay are statisticallyno Significance .3. The gross score of cure practices was 63.56+14.44(22-100)in 151 patients, including the score of taking tablets according to prescription was 21.29 + 4.91, that of diat control 16.32 + 5.06, exercise 14.87 + 6.00, self-monitoring 11.30+4.67.By chi-square test , the best practice was taking tablets according to prescription in 151 patients, the second practice was diat control and exercises, the worst practice was self-monitoring. Multiple logistic regression analysis identified cure attitudes(OR=3.752),health knowledge (OR=2.672),source of fee-for-service (OR=2.600), sex (OR=0.419) as significant positive factors influencing cure practice, And the scores of cure practice increased accompanied with time of accepting education, but thay arestatistically no significance. Conclusion: 1. Patients with Diabetes Mellituslack of knowledge at large especially self-monitoring knowledge, and had some wrong opinion about them. So need to enhance knowledge education , especially that of low-level of education. 2. Need to promoting chang of cure attitudes about self-monitoring, especially cure attitudes of incumbentv. 3. Cure practices in 151 patients was not allow optimism .health educator need to pay...
