Comparation Of Extraction Methods Of Active Components From Radix Astragalus

Radix Astragalus,usually used as a traditional Chinesemedicine,has many effects of replenishing "qi",depressingblood pressure,stimulating heart,dimishing inflammation,promoting the subsidence of swelling,reinforcing immunityand so on. Radix Astragalus is the radix of Astragalusmembranacens Bunge and A.membranacens var. mongolicus(bunge)Hsiao.The main efficency components from Astragalus are Astragalussaponins and Astragalus polysaccharides. We extract Astragalussaponin by sorite extraction method ,ultrosonic waveextraction method and boiling extraction method. The saponincontent was detected colorimetrically by H2SO4-vanillinmethod at 538nm with astragalosideâ…£as standard .At the sametime,we use water boiling method,basic extraction method andwater extraction method to extract Astragalus polysaccharides.The total sugar content is detected colorimetrically by theanthrone-sulfuric acid method at 626nm with glucose asstandard,the monosaccharide is detected colorimetrically bythe 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid method at 540nm with glucose asstandard.
