| Objective To evaluate the repairing methods of urethral fistula after hypospadias operation, To contrast the therapeutic effect of continuous knock suture and strengthen continuous knock suture in the treatment after hypospadias operation. Methods Summarized 43 cases of repairing operation after hypospadias operation which were operated from January 2002 to April 2008 in our hospital . the age was from 3 to 22 years old(mean age 9.1), There were 51 fistulas. Among them 30 fistulas diameter were less than 4mm, 21 fistulas diameter were lagger than 4mm. 11cases were repaired once, 6 cases were repaired twice.22 cases were repaired by continuous knock suture and 21 cases were repaired by strengthen continuous knock suture. Results 21case were performed by strengthen continuous knock suture, Among them fistulas diameter were less than 4mm in 10 cases, 8cases succeed and 2 cases failed. fistulas diameter were large than 4mm in 11 cases, 10 cases succeed and 1 case failed. The successful rate of continuous knock suture was 54.55%(12/22), The successful rate of strengthen continuous knock suture was 85.71%(18/21), there were significant statistical diffrence(P<0.05).Conclusion The strengthen continuous knock suture has highlly successful rate.It was worth to extensively spreading and applying.
