| The integrality of the tissue and organ is damagedafter the removal of oral tumour. Some can be sutured,some can not be repaired. So the function of the organ isseverely damaged, even the patient'sappearance is changed. Oral soft tissue defect used to be repaired through skinor membrane grafting by patient himself, or by biologicalcomposite materials, but there are some disadvantagesabout them:1. the healthy tissue of the patient is hurt instead, andthe extra scar is remained to him.2. The vascular tissue can't be transplanted with alarge degree, so it is insufficient for the large sized defect.3. The function and cosmetics of the donor site areaffected, as well as the receving site. In addition, thegraft rejection can not be avoided. So the study and thedevelopment of dermal matrix substitutes is urgent for theclinical application.Immune response happens when heterogenous or xenogentic tissues are grafted to the receiver. The surveyshows, the immuologic rejection is caused by the cells ofheterogenous or xenogentic tissue. The recent research indicates that acellular dermalmatrix ( ADM )can be a dermal substitute to repair the softtissue wound. All the cells in ADM are removed, the fibriland basal membrane are left. It has been used in burn andscar wound, the result is good. The application of ADM in oral maxillofacial surgeryand its biological change after transplantation are rarelyreported. The present study tried to evaluate the effectiveness ofADM in repairing oral membrane defect and to know itsbiological character further. Meanwhile, we test the clinicaleffect of ADM as an interpositional physical barrier toprevent the development of Frey syndrome afterparotidetomy . 38 patients with oral soft tissue wound were selected.The wound was covered with homologous ADM, the survivalrate was observed 10d, 1m, 3m, 6m and 1y later aftertransplantation , all the wounds grafted healed very well.
