Study On The Evaluation Of Medical Quality According To Case Classification

Medical quality evaluation is the center of hospital administration. The implementation of medical quality control according to case classification is an important innovation in the study of hospital administration. Without considering the severe degree of cases, traditional medical quality evaluation mixed up ordinary and complex cases together to analyze, unable to reflect the true medical conditions objectively and to exert positive guidance of medical quality control. Based on our national condition, case classification management absorb successful experiences of relevant research at home and abroad, divide cases into type A,B,C and D according to state of illness and character of medical behavior, comparing guidelines of medical quality in each type and providing a new referential model to evaluate medical quality scientifically, specificity diagnosis and treat, control unreasonable rise of medical charges and decrease medical costs.Adopting theory and methods of case classification, following consultation of specialists, in the light of principles—less guidelines, more information, making case classification guidelines core, integrating 《Main Guidelines of Medical Quality for Military Hospital》 issued by Department of Health, we construct the system of medical quality evaluation by case classification. After collecting 134613 cases between 2000, Jan 1st and 2004, Dec 31st provided by one hospital which affiliated to the Second Military Medical University of People's Liberation Army, combining ICD-9 classification of diseases and cases, establishing standard values for medical quality evaluation guidelines, on the ground of 《checking and evaluating standard of overall responsibility system to molar management of quality》 , medical quality of affiliated hospitals were appraised punitively. Our findings suggest that the system of medical quality evaluation derived from theory of case classification possesses comparability, operability and systematic ness, and perfects application research for case classification.
