Most scholars consider mandibular condyle fracture will lead to temporomandibular disorder(TMD). But there have controversy about whether the no-condyle fracture will lead to temporomandibular disorder. The purpose of this study was: to set up the mandibular fracture database by Microsoft VC++ and ACCESS to explore the relationship between TMD and mandibular fracture.to explore the change of temporomandibular joint function within one year after mandibular fracture.Material and MethodsThe database was set up by Microsoft VC++ and ACCESS according the Helkimo index. The mandibular fracture group was consist of 36 be in hospital patient from 1999.10 to 2002.12 .the control group was consist of 32 noamal person. All data were be statisticed and analyzedResultsThere are statistically significant differences between the mandibular fracturegroup and control group in the distribution of anamnestic, clinical dysfunction index after therapy. There are statistically significant sifferences between the mandibular fracture group and control group in the distribution of anamnestic, clinical dysfunction index after three month of therapy. There are statistically significant sifferences between the mandibular fracture group and control group in the distribution of anamnestic index after one year of therapy.ConclusionThe results suggest that people with mandibular fracture have more symptoms and sign in the time ranged, and the symptoms and signs of TMD reduce with the time passed after corrected therapy.
