Objective: Establish an acetic acid - induced gastric ulcer model in rats and dynamic study the effects of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on gastric ulcer different healing stages. Further investigate the mechanism of CHGZT improved the quality of gastric ulcer healing (QUH.). Methods: Acetic acid - induced gastric ulcer model were prepared. bFGF distribution was defined by immunohistochemistry. bFGF was measured by Morphometric analyses within granulation tissues. Results: ?The expression of bFGF was mainly observed in eosinophil and rarely observed in fibroblast , endothelial cells of granulation tissues. ?The expression in normal gastric mucosa was weakly positive. The expression of bFGF was different among granulation tissues at different stages of acetic acid - induced gastric ulcer. The expression was strongly increased at 5d stage of gastric ulcer. However, the expression was reduced at 30d-126d stage of gastric ulcer. The number of positive staining cell was 0.0173 ± 0.0024 in normal gastric mucous. The number of positive staining cell were 0.0330 ± 0.0013, 0.0292 ± 0.0008 ,0.0310 ± 0.0011 in Model group after 5d, 30d, 126d of gastric ulcer wound respectively, and 0.0296 ± 0.0021, 0.0205 ± 0.0013, 0.0185 ± 0.0022 in CHGZT group after 5d, 30d, 126d of gastric ulcer wound respectively, and 0.0334±0.0033 , 0. 0239 ±0. 0018, 0.0298 ± 0.0019 in Cimetidine group after 5d,30d, 126d of gastric ulcer wound respectively . There were significant differences between CHGZT group and model group in different stages of gastric ulcer wound (p<0. 05).Conclusion: CHGZT promoted the acetic acid - induced gastric ulcer healing and improved the quality of gastric ulcer healing by reducing infiltration of activation of eosinophils in gastric ulcer in rats and regulating the expression of bFGF within granulation tissues between ulcer healing stage and scars reconstruction stage.
