Objective:Investigating the relative factors of dental phobia in adult dental extractions and making a clinic test to provide the preventing and controlling basis for them.Methods: 1.The Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS) were sent to tooth extracting out patient to measure their dental phobia. Adopt case-control study, 80 patients (MDAS>=11) and 80 controls (MDAS<11) matching according to age, sex, education degree and same extracted tooth. all the cases were investigated face-to-face and the date were analyzed with the Logistic Regression Analysis.2.Randomized, controlled, cross-over clinical trial were designed to comparing traditional tooth extraction with paced respiration Tooth Extraction. The front and back ache- value are recorded and analyzed statistically.Results:The Logistic Regress Analyses showed that 5 variables were associated with the dental phobia in adult dental retraction. The risk factors are traumatic dental experiences, indirect negatively dental information, fear of seeing injector and fear of inject in oral cavity. The protect factor is having a good rest overnight. The clinic test show the paced respiration Tooth Extraction can reduce effectively the tooth extracting patents' phobia.Conclusions: The dental phobia is a multifactor disease. Mastering its risk and protected factor redound to its defending .Applying the paced respiration Tooth Extraction in clinical are effective attempting.
