| Objective: To explore the best non-invasive therapy and curative effect of TCM on acute secretory otitis media, this study based on the the theory of TCM, using modern detection methods, compared with Ambroxol.Methods: 80 confirmed diagnosis patients, were randomly divided into two groups, treatment and control groups. Each group contains 40 cases. The treatment group were treated with Er Mitai,l/2dose,bid.Control group were treated with oral Ambroxol for adults, 30mg, tid. (syrup for chirdren behind 13,5ml,tid) .The course of treatment is 2 weeks. Aurinasal examination, nasopharyngeal examination .acoustic impedance and pure tone audiometry were measured on every patient both before and after treatment. After 7 days and 14 days of treatment, the variation of symptoms, physical signs, tympanogram and pure-tone hearing thresholds were compared with before treatment. Follow-up survey was done after 28 days .Results: Clinical treatment group shows good results: the total effective rate of treatment group is 80%(32/40), recurrence rate is 7.14% (2/28) ,compared with that of control group, 67.5% (27/40) and 34.78% (8/23) ,there are significant difference.Conclusions:( 1 ) " Wind invasion, metal excess and wood stagnancy, phlegm-dampness obstructing the orifices of the ear" are considered as the cause and pathogenesis of ASOM. So lung cure with dispelling phlegm is therapeutic principle. Fomula Er mitai is effective recipe for ASOM.(2) The principle and method of non-invasive therapy on ASOM is worth advocating .(3) Chinese medicine is promising with affirmative effective and without any obvious side-effect, which provides an effective and safe method to treat ASOM. |
