| Objective:Vascular Dementia (VD) is a kind of dementia syndrome caused by the damage of brain tissue which aroused through a series of brain blood vessel elements,It is the more grave result of brain blood vessel disease,Also is the common ailment in the throng of old age. TCM think,Vascular Dementia is accompanied by excess type and deficiency type.It`s fundamental pathogenesis is the combination of asthenia, ecchymosis,phlegm and toxin. TCM doctors have originated a series of effectual prescriptions in the fight against the disease.We start through a great quantity of reported clinical data and analyze the common prescriptions and common medicines of many physicians.After that we concluded that Bushen,Huoxue and Huatan are there methods that in the most common use. Moreover,we select the representive medicines which do not possess many compatible actions and make up the prescriptions by consulting the common prescriptions.we detect the contents of Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), Maleic Dialdehyde (MDA), Nitric Oxide (NO), Nitric Oxide Synthase (NOS) and Acetylcholin sterase (AchE) in the brain tissue of imitative Vascular Dementia rat model,and observe the changes of pathomorphology of hippocampal CA1 region. Thereby we can analyze and compare the preventive and treating effects of three methods. also we can comprehend the recovering situation as to the cerebral cognitive function of rats treated by different means,In the end supply the further medicine direction and foundation to the clinical .Method:the imitative Vascular Dementia rat model was established by repeatedly clipping the carotid artery of the rat in combination with reducing the rat`s blood pressure to about 50 mmHg with an abdominal injection of Sodium Nitroprusside.Before experiment,we divided the rats randomly into 6 group,which is pseudo-operation group,model group,Huoxue group,Bushen group,Huatan group and nimodipini group.3d starts feeding the medicine before the operation,Daily 1 time.The operation that day the ahead of time 2h pours the stomach, pseudo-operation group and model group was offered saline .The rest groups were poured the stomach with Huoxue herb liquid,Bushen herb liquid,Huatan herb liquid and nimodipini liquid.It is till 7d after operation.Started carrying on the action test at the 7th day, And at the 8th day started detecting the contents of some factors such as Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), Maleic Dialdehyde (MDA), Nitric Oxide(NO), Nitric Oxide Synthase(NOS), Acetylcholin esterase(AchE),and observed the changes of pathomorphology of hippocampal CA1 region.Result1. Result of action experiment:Step-down avoidance test(1)Study achievement:The Incubation period(the time of jumping up the stand) of model group (85.33±6.95) was longer than pseudo-operation group(31.25±5.55),there was obviously difference between the two groups (P<0.01). This displayed the study achievement of the rats in model group drops. The Incubation period of Huoxue group(44.44±5.08),Bushen group(45.63±3.89),Huatan group(47.87±4.39) and nimodipini group(47.25±4.30)was significantly shorter than that of model group(P<0.01). Huoxue group possessed superior tendency than Bushen group,and Bushen group possessed superior tendency than Huatan group.but there did not have significant difference between there groups in the statistics(P>0.05).When contrasted with the other herb groups respectively, there has not significant difference between nimodipini group and others(P>0.05).(2)Memory achievement :there was obviously difference(P<0.01) between model group (85.44±2.65) and pseudo-operation group(28.88±4.64) ,which showed that the memory capability of model group was desending.
