| Objective To investigate the relationship between structure and function as well as subjective and objective examination of diabitic macular edema( DME). Methods optical coherence tomography( OCT), fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA), visual field and slit-lamp biomicroscope was used for comparative analyses in 30eyes of 20 volunteers and 39 eyes(34 cases) of diabitic macular edema( DME). Results The correlationships between macular central thickness and macular visual sensitivity(r=-0.678; P < 0.01), macular central thickness and visual acuity(r=-0.806; P < 0.01), macular visual sensitivity and visual acuity(r=0.663; P < 0.01) were statistically significant. There was no significant difference in the rate of findings of increased macular thickness between macular thickness map and slit-lamp biomicroscope (P > 0.05) . The difference in the rate of findings of macular abnormality between macular thickness map and FFA had no statistically significance (P>0.05) . Conclusion With alteration of macular structure. The visual functions of eyes of DME changedcorrespondingly to some extent. Wheras, visual functions did not completely accord with macular structure.Macular circumstance could be overally and objectively displayed only by right of OCT and perimetry. OCT and perimetry have their own superiority. Their association can attribute to early diagnose of DME. |
