Study Of The Central Mechanism Of Electroacupuncture On Gastric Motility In Rat

Acupuncture is the important part in Chinese medicine. The transmission of needling sensation response and acupuncture effects are associated with nerve-body fluid regulation.In this study,the effect and its mechanism of electroacupuncture on gastric motility after microinjection of several drugs into nucueus raphes magnus(NRM) in rat have been discussed.The results were as follows:1. Electroacupuncture af'Zu San Li"point in rats could cause inhibitory effect on the amplitude of the contractions of gastric motility.But there were no obvious change on the frequency of the contractions and the average were 4-5/min.(1) Injection of 5-HT into NRM in advance could strengthen the inhibitory effect of electroacupuncture markedly.(2) Injection of naloxon into NRM in advance could abolish the inhibitory effect of electroacupuncture utterly,and caused increase effect on the amplitude of contractions of gastric motility.(3) Injection of L-NAME into NRM in advance also strengthened the inhibitory effect of electroacupuncture.Whereas L-Arg which was injected into NRM in advance abolished the effect of electroacupuncture.Futhermore,it increased the amplitude of contractions of gastric motility.(4) Injection of IL-6 into NRM in advance could strengthen the inhibitory effect of electroacupuncture as well.2. Injection of 5-HT into NRM could increase the amplitude of contractions of gastric motility remarkably,but couldn't affect frequency of contractions.(1) Injection of naloxon into NRM in advance could abolish the increase effect of 5-HT completely,and could cause inhibitory effect on gastric motility.(2) Injection of L-Arg into NRM in advance could reverse the effect of 5-HT on gastric motility. Injection of L-Arg into NRM in advance could partially decrease the effect of 5-HT early and the effect of 5-HT revived soon.The results suggested thatAcupuncture could cause inhibitory effect on the amplitude of contractions but couldn't affect the frequency of gastric motility. Acupuncture could exert effect by activating endogenous opioid peptides.Both 5-HTand IL-6 affected its effect.NO of brain could cause tension effect on gastric motility on physiological conditions,inhibiting its synthesis and release could be another way of acupuncture to regulate gastric motility.5-HT is a important neurotransmitter in NRM to regulate gastric motility,it could not only strengthen the effect of acupuncture on gastric motility,but also increase the strength of gastric motility by activating endogenous opioid peptides.NO could regulate the effect of 5-HT on gastric motility. Nervous system. endocrinium and immune system all were associated with regulation of acupuncture to gastric motility.
