Objective To study the status inquo of the chronic diseases and its influencing factors among the elders. Methods A questionnaire survey of community-based health services was performed among 1897 elders or older in GuLou community and Fuyang QinHe community, and suburb of Fuyang. Results The prevelencnce rate of chronic disease among the 1897 elders in Fuyang was 89.8%. The top five ranks in chronic diseases and their prevalence rates were hypertension (32.8%), diabetes mellitus(19.4%), Cardiovascular disease(18.7%), neck vertebra disease(17.4%). The affecting factors for the prevalence of these five self-reported chronic diseases were age, gender, education, Job, income and medical protection. Conclusion The chronic disease prevalence rate of the elderly is higher than other populations. Age, gender, education, job, income and medical protection are the important affecting factors for elders.
