In the last two decades, HIV has led to an epidemic that affects all human populations around the world. An estimated 60 million people are now living with the virus, and some 16,000 new infections occur daily. HIV affects people in their prime years of life, often between the age of 15 and 49. Globally more men than women are infected with the virus. HIV/AIDS spread from high risk behaviors groups to populace, the high risk behaviors groups main include female sex workers (FSW) and their clients, injection drug users (IDU) , men who have sex with men ( MSM) , and STD clinic attendees. In Mainland China, injection drug use has continued to be the most important route of HIV spread, there was also an increase in heterosexual transmission, with a rising HIV prevalence in STD patients. The corresponding prevalence in commercial sex workers. The HIV spread model was described as from MSM to IDU to FSW to then-clients to housewife to children. Similar with other places, there are many high risk behaviors groups in Shenyang. In this study our interest was to evaluate the risk degree of some female sex workers ( FSW) and their clients, injection drug users (IDU) , men who have sex with men (MSM) , and STD clinic attendees.Materials and MethodsWe conducted cross - sectional survey of 400 female sex workers ( FSW) and 176 their clients, 202 injection drug users (IDU) , 342 men who have sex with men ( MSM) , and 196 STD clinic attendees with face to face questionnaire , in the meantime, 554 waiters and waitress were used as contract, accord-ing to the principle of respect, voluntary and keep secret. Statistical soft we used is SPSS11.5. All the data were indicated by EPIDATA. Comparability of data among groups is made by chi - square test and analysis of variance.ResultsThe analysis showed that educational level was positive correlated with AIDS knowledge ( x2 = 549. 1, p = 0. 000). 58. 8% of them didnt knew that HIV infected persons may have no symptoms. 15. 4% of them used condom in extramarital sex. The correct answer rate of the HIV transmission routes was o-ver 77. 2% , however, 62.2 % and 53.6% of the respondents believed sharing dinner and mosquito bite transmit HIV respectively. 89% of the respondents regarded health more important than money. Most of them did not believe the condom prevent HIV transmission. Some of them expressed their willingness to accept HIV examination. More than half of them got their knowledge on HIV/ AIDS from mass media.DiscussionRisk is the probability that a person may acquire HIV infection. Risk behaviors include those relating to protected sex and injection drug use. Vulnerability refers to the societal factors that influence such behaviors . By developing focused action to those communities who are prone to risk behaviors, maximumimpact of HIV prevention can be obtained.Individual behavior, especially drug use, sexual promiscuity and other behavioral characteristics of the high - risk group have a big effect on the transmission of venereal disease and AIDS. There are two kinds of methods for controlling these types of behaviors that have been debated extensively in foreign countries. The first method is raising the cost of such types of behaviors: severe beating, stiff fines, forced education, etc. This type of methodology, on the surface , can obtain partial results in a short amount of time. It is also possible that this will make it more difficult for the high - risk group to seek help or becomeeven more ostracized from society or drift around different places and bring even more danger to the transmission of venereal disease and AIDS. Another method is through educational campaigns to persuade the high - risk group to adopt a safer method in their dangerous behavior, such as providing condoms and medicines for venereal diseases, avoidance of shared needles, etc to keep the transmission of venereal disease and AIDS within limits. These methods have been extremely effective in preventing the transmission of venereal disease and AIDS abroad.I...
