Objective: To investigate the theory of correlation between the meridians and Zand-fu and the specificity of the points to their related Zang-fu. Methods: Injected Atropine by intravenous drip, the rabbits were in a special condition which the myoelectric activities of the stomach and the sphincter of oddi(SO) were inhabited. Then we observed the effects of myoelectric activities of the stomach and SO after electroacupuncturing at Zusanli points and Yanglingquan points, and measured the levels of motilin(MTL) and cholcystokinin(CCK) in the antrum, SO and plasma. Results: 1 after the rabbits were injected Atropine by intravenous drip, the average amplitudes of the phase of high activity of myoelectric slow wave and of myoelectric fast wave were significantly decreased. Moreover the changes of the average frequency of myoelectric slow wave and the number of apex cluster of myoelectric fast wave were not significant. These results indicated that Atropine had an inhibitory effect on the myoelectric activities of the stomach and SO.2 The average amplitudes of myoelectric slow wave and fast wave were enhanced in a certain extent after electroacupuncturing at Zusanli points and Yanglingquan points. Electroacupuncturing at Zusanli points in the foot yangming meridians brought the optimal regulatory effect on the gastricmyoelectric activity, while electroacupuncturing at Yanglingquan points in the foot shaoyang meridians brought the optimal regulatory effect on the myoelectric activity of SO. These results suggested that there was a certain special relation between the foot yangming meridians and the stomach, as well as between the foot shaoyang meridians and the gallbladder.3 The levels of MTL and CCK in the antrum, SO and plasma were increased after electroacupuncturing at Zusanli points and Yanglingquan points . The levels of MTL in the antrum and plasma and CCK in plasma were obviously increased after electroacupuncturing at Zusanli points, whereas the levels of MTL in SO and CCK in the antrum and SO were obviously increased after electroacupuncturing at Yanglingquan points. The results indicated that MTL and CCK played important roles in regulating the activity of the alimentary canal. There was a positive effect on the release of MTL and CCK after electroacupuncturing at the points. Conclusions: The inhibitory myoelectric activities of the stomach and SO were improved after electroacupuncturing at Zusanli points and Yanglingquan points. The possible mechanism may be that the acupuncture influences the release of MTL and CCK and as a result, regulates the activity of the alimentary canal. This regulation of the points to their related Zang-fu has a certain relative specificity.
